Day 5 of the 2016 Paralympic Games saw Algeria’s men and women participate in various team events. Algeria sat 29th in the medal table after four days of action and they will be looking to consolidate that rank over the next few days. Unfortunately however, no medals were won today for the North African nation.

GOALBALL

Algeria’s men were absolutely sensational and beat Canada 17-13 in their Group A match, picking up their first three points in the process. The women’s were also in action as they team took on Japan and lost 7-1.

WHEELCHAIR BASKETBALL

The Algerian women suffered a heavy defeat against the USA, losing 65-15 in the early morning match. There was also a loss for the men, as Iran came out victorious by 72 points to 48 meaning that Algeria finished in last position of Group B.
