#Paralympics: Algeria Day 6

There were more medals to be won for our Algerian athletes at Day 6 of these Paralympic Games in Rio, and the North Africans increased their tally once more.

ATHLETICS

A massive congratulations to Mohamed Berrahal who won a silver medal in the men’s T51 100m final with a time of 21.70.

There was more good news as three Algerians made it through their heats and qualified for the final of the men’s T13 400m. Abdellatif Baka, Fouad Baka and Mohamed Hamoumou will be looking to create history once again later in the week.

The women’s T12 long jump final also took place and a massive congratulations to Lynda Hamri who won a bronze medal with a jump of 5.53m, narrowly missing out on the silver.

WHEELCHAIR BASKETBALL

Argentina and Algeria took on each other in the 9th/10th play-off match and it was the South Americans who came out on top, with their women winning 53-38.

GOALBALL

Algeria’s women lost their Group C encounter 10-0 against Brazil, meaning they finish bottom of the table with no points.
