Algeria added to their medal tally at Day 4 of the Paralympic Games in Rio with some fantastic performances along the way.
ATHLETICS
A quite incredible T13 1500m race saw male brothers Fouad Baka and Abdellatif Baka take part and it was Abdellatif won who a medal – making it Algeria’s first gold of these Games. An amazing performance saw him break the world record and the Paralympic record with a time of 3:48.29. There was more medal success for Algeria on the track as Madjid Djemai won a bronze in the men’s T37 1500m with a time of 4:17.28.

GOALBALL
Brazil beat Algeria 10-2 in the men’s section of Pool A, with Mohamed Mokrane getting both the goals for the North Africans.
WHEELCHAIR BASKETBALL
Both the men and the women were in action. Algeria’s women lost 72-33 to France, whilst the men lost to the USA 92-24.
