Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has ruled out making a move for Algerian sensation Riyad Mahrez, reports the Daily Mail. The Leicester City winger has scored 16 goals and assisted on 11 occasions in the Premier League this campaign, which has immensely aided the Foxes in their quest to be crowned champions come the middle of May.
Wenger, at his pre-match press conference, said: “No, even if it was I wouldn’t talk about it this stage of the season [out of] respect to Leicester.” Leicester are currently five points clear at the top of the table, ahead of Tottenham.
Mahrez is expected to be chased by a whole host of clubs across the continent this summer, including La Liga powerhouses FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. His perfect performances have also earned him a place on the PFA Player of the Year shortlist, along with his teammates N’Golo Kante and Jamie Vardy.
