Valencia CF have officially announced that they have opened disciplinary proceedings, as well as suspended the midfielder Sofiane Feghouli.
The club issued a statement stating:
“Valencia Club de Fútbol have decided to open a disciplinary procedure involving player Sofiane Feghouli.
During the processing of said procedure, and awaiting the resolution of the matter, the player will be suspended as a cautionary measure, in accordance with the current convention between the AFE and Liga de Fútbol Profesional.
Valencia do not report the reason towards why they have opened disciplinary procedures against the player, as well as the suspension.
One of the reasoning’s behind this decision could be that the player refused to continue his warm up in yesterdays game against Sevilla, it is also known that the player had missed today’s training session, due to physical discomfort.
There is also a possibility that the sanction of Valencia has to do with his absence from training last week, in which the player was still in Paris, after his journey back from his international duties with Algeria, and could not return in time due to a misunderstanding with the tickets.
