Preview: Algeria vs Lesotho

Milovan Rajevac’s first game in charge as manager of Algeria sees the Desert Foxes host Lesotho in their final Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

The North African side have already qualified for the competition, with top spot in Group J secured following four wins and one draw in the five qualification matches thus far.

Almost exactly a year ago, Algeria beat Lesotho 3-1 in the away tie thanks to Hilal Soudani’s late brace in Maseru. Soudani has five goals in five qualifying games and will be looking to add to his tally. Another forward in the squad, Islam Slimani, will also look to impress as he closes in on the all-time scoring record.

Two members of the squad could make their debuts for the national team, in the form of Ismael Bennacer and Houari Ferhani. However, there will be no Sofiane Feghouli or Rachid Ghezzal as both players had to withdraw from the squad due to injury.
